Woman buy most of the cars in the US, or at least they make the decisions on what to buy. But when the car is just for them, what do women want in a car?
It turns out that there tastes are similar to the men with a few twists. Women are more likely to buy an import; Women place a higher importance on overall value, reliability, safety , and ease of use than the men do.
A recent study from iSeeCars.com in the U.S. shows women are 67 per cent more likely than men to buy a crossover vehicle, 30 per cent more likely to buy a wagon and 21 per cent more likely to buy a sedan. On the flip side, men are 41 per cent more likely to buy a sports car and 24 per cent more likely to buy a convertible.
That explains why men were also found to be four times more likely than women to buy a vehicle that costs more than $45,000. Men are also two times more likely to buy a car priced between $30,000 and $45,000.
It should be no surprise then that the survey found more women choose less expensive makes and models of cars, including Kia, Hyundai, Saturn, Scion and Volkswagen. Men were more likely to purchase a Maserati, Porsche, Hummer, Cadillac and Jaguar.
